I've never heard of it either, but I'm of the opinion that you should try something before dissing it--well, I would have to say surstromming (spelling?) would be an exception. :-)

lol... funny you should mention that! In the late 1800's and early 1900's mummies were so cheap and plentiful that people literally burned them as cheap "firewood". They were also ground up and made into butcher paper, which is why butcher paper is traditionally brown.
No, I ain't making this up!
What's your source for this information? Somehow I get the same feeling as when I'm looking at a car and the salemen opens his mouth with a big toothy grin and says, "Would I lie to you?" lol

Yeah, it was funny. I feel just a tiny bit guilty for laughing at the poor kids though--they were scared witless. :)

Same here, Talesin.
Fast! Think of a number between 12 and 5.
This one is easy to see why we got 7--we see "between 12 and 5" and our brain automatically subtracts the two--we're so conditioned to adding or subtracting when given two numbers.

I think we need to examine our idea of "perfect." To me, perfect never meant not making a mistake, but, rather, just living up to what we were designed for. If you design a car to drive 50 mph and no faster, is it less perfect than a car that will go 200 mph?

Do conflicts/arguments strengthen friendships/relationships ?
by JH ini think that conflicts do strengthen friendships or relationships.
it sets boundary lines and defines what's acceptable from what's not acceptable.
naturally it will strengthen the friendship or relationship as long as both respect the boundary line of the other one.. or, maybe conflicts mean that things aren't going right and the relationship/friendship isn't going good, and that the tolerance level has become very low, and arguments errupt for little nothings.... .

I think we need to make a distinction here between arguments/fighting and conflicts. . .

I can manipulate things with my mind. Why, just the other day I was staring at this red light in the middle of the street, thinking "Change to green!, Change to green!" And you know what, it did change to green!
